Exploring Passions Beyond the Classroom
The new Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) season at NationalHigh Jakarta School officially began with the CCA Open House, held on 16 July, offering students an exciting opportunity to explore the diverse range of activities available at our school. Featuring more than 24 non-sports CCAs and over 15 sports CCAs, the event highlighted the school’s commitment to providing meaningful experiences that foster students’ personal growth, creativity, leadership, teamwork, and overall well-being.
Throughout the Open House, students visited various CCA booths where teachers, coaches, and student representatives introduced their programs through engaging displays, interactive demonstrations, and informative discussions. From sports teams and performing arts to academic clubs, community service groups, and special interest organisations, each CCA showcased its unique activities and achievements. Students were encouraged to ask questions, learn about the expectations and opportunities within each club, and discover new interests that could enrich their school experience beyond academics.
To further support students in making informed decisions, the school organised a series of CCA Trial sessions, allowing participants to experience different activities before selecting their preferred CCA. The first trial session took place on 16 July, welcoming Primary students to Sports CCAs and Secondary students to Non-Sports CCAs. The second session followed on 21 July, where Secondary students explored Sports CCAs while Primary students participated in Non-Sports CCAs.
The trial sessions provided valuable hands-on experiences, giving students the chance to actively participate in training, workshops, games, and introductory activities led by experienced coaches and CCA advisors. Whether learning a new sport, creating art, solving challenges, performing with peers, or collaborating in team-based activities, students embraced each opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity, and confidence. These experiences not only helped them better understand the nature of each CCA but also allowed them to build new friendships and connect with students who share similar interests.
The NationalHigh Jakarta School CCA Open House and Trial successfully created an inspiring and welcoming environment where every student was encouraged to step outside their comfort zone, explore their potential, and find a CCA that best reflects their passions and aspirations. We look forward to seeing our students continue to grow, develop new skills, and create lasting memories through their chosen cocurricular activities throughout the school year.
