SC: 18 BATCH INVESTITURE TH CEREMONY

On 31 August 2026, our school held the 18th Batch Student Council Investiture Ceremony, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Student Council for AY 2026/2027. During the ceremony, Jade Wennas was officially elected as the new President of the Student Council for AY 2026/2027. We look forward to seeing Jade and the new Student Council continue to lead with commitment, responsibility and a strong spirit of service to the school community.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Jayden Leo, the Student Council President for AY2025/2026, for his dedication and leadership throughout his term. His contributions have helped strengthen the Student Council and positively impacted the wider school community.

Both Jade and Jayden shared inspiring speeches during the ceremony, reflecting on their leadership experiences, responsibilities, and hopes for the Student Council. Here are their speeches:

Jade Wennas – Student Council President AY 2026/2027

“It is an honour and a privilege to stand before you today as the President of the 18th Batch Student Council. I would like to sincerely thank the students and teachers for placing their trust in me and in this Student Council. This trust is something we deeply value, and we are committed to proving that it was well placed through the work we do throughout this year.

As the 18th Batch Student Council, we want to represent the students, listen to every voice, and turn ideas into experiences that make our school life more meaningful. We know that leadership will come with challenges, but we also know that those challenges give us opportunities to learn, improve, and grow together.

Today marks the beginning of our journey, and I am excited to take it on with all of you, guided by our commitment to serve for the interest of the school and the welfare of the students.”

Jayden Leo – Student Council President AY 2025/2026

    “Greetings everyone.

Standing here today, almost a year after I first stood on this stage as the incoming President of the 17th
Batch Student Council, feels quite surreal. Back then, I spoke about the responsibilities we were about to
take on, the legacy we hoped to build, and the kind of Council we wanted to become. Today, as I stand
here as the outgoing President, I find myself looking back at everything that happened since then.

The past year has been filled with moments that I will remember for a very long time. There were successful events, difficult decisions, unexpected challenges, and countless moments where things did not go exactly as planned. But through all of them, I learned that leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about being willing to listen, to learn, to take responsibility, and most importantly, to continue moving forward even when things become difficult.

To my fellow 17th Batch members, thank you. Thank you for the time, effort, patience, and commitment that each of you has given to this Council. We may not have always agreed, and we certainly did not always have everything figured out, but I am proud of what we were able to accomplish together. More than the events we organised or the projects we completed, I will remember the people I had the privilege of working alongside.

I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to our SC mentors and teachers. Thank you for your guidance, your patience, and for trusting us enough to let us learn through our own experiences. Many of the lessons I take away from these four years in Student Council are lessons that extend far beyond leadership, and I will carry them with me long after I leave this school.

And finally, to the 18th Batch Student Council: congratulations. Today marks the beginning of your journey, and I hope you embrace every part of it. There will be moments when leadership feels rewarding, and there will be moments when it feels overwhelming. But remember that your position is not about the title you hold. It is about the people you serve and the difference you choose to make.

As I pass on this responsibility to you, I hope you will build upon what came before you, but never be afraid to create something of your own. Lead with purpose, serve with sincerity, and always remember our guiding principle: for the interest of the school and the welfare of the students.

Thank you, 17th Batch, for four unforgettable years. And to the 18th Batch, I wish you the very best. Good luck, and make it count.”
