NHJS Celebrates Outstanding Success at the TeenEagle UK Global Finals 2026
There is much to celebrate at NationalHigh Jakarta School (NHJS) as six students proudly represented the school at the TeenEagle UK Global Finals 2026, held at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom, and returned home with remarkable achievements on the international stage. Competing against students from different countries in the Knowledge Quiz, Spelling, Writing, and Debate events, the NHJS delegation earned an impressive 5 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals, and Top Performer Trophy.
Representing NHJS and Indonesia were Alexander James Sasmita (Year 6), Emilia Pratama (Year 6), Rose Elizabeth Sudharta (Year 6), Victoria Agustina (Year 6), Chelsea Arlena Sudharta (Year 8), and Daniella Yuan Huang (Year 8).
Among the delegation’s many accomplishments, Emilia Pratama (Year 6) received the Top Performer Trophy for TeenEagle 1. Adding to the celebration, Emilia Pratama and Chelsea Arlena Sudharta (Year 8) were invited to participate in the TeenEagle Spelling Showcase for TeenEagle 1 and TeenEagle 2 respectively— an honour reserved for the competition’s top-performing spellers.
Beyond the medals and awards, TeenEagle offered an experience that extended far beyond the competition hall. Through every challenge, our students had the opportunity to demonstrate the NHJS PIAGET values of Passion, Integrity, Adaptability, Grace, Excellence, and Teamwork while developing important life skills such as independence, effective communication, respect for others, confidence, and resilience. Whether working through a debate, responding under pressure during the Knowledge Quiz, crafting a written response, or taking the stage in the Spelling event, the students represented NHJS with determination, humility, and pride.
The success at the Global Finals was built on a strong foundation established during the TeenEagle Online Round, where 27 NHJS students participated. We are proud that all 27 students qualified for the Global Finals, achieving a 100% qualification rate. The Online Round also brought individual international recognition as Sachika Diptisari Suwanda (Year 10) was named a Global Top Achiever, an outstanding accomplishment that reflected the calibre of NHJS students and their commitment to excellence.
These achievements would not have been possible without the collective support of the NHJS community. The school extends its sincere appreciation to School Management for continually championing opportunities that allow students to grow beyond the classroom. Special thanks are also extended to Ms Christine, Co-Person-in-Charge, for her invaluable partnership in training, coaching, and preparing the students throughout their TeenEagle journey. Finally, we express our heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their trust, encouragement, and unwavering support, and we congratulate all our student participants for representing NHJS with distinction on the global stage.
As one TeenEagle season comes to a close, another is about to begin. We warmly invite students (Y5 for Primary, and all year levels for Secondary) to be part of the TeenEagle 2026–2027 programme and discover where curiosity, perseverance, and the courage to step beyond one’s comfort zone can lead.
We look forward to seeing even more NHJS students embrace the challenge and continue our tradition of excellence on the international stage.
